This product is handloomed by skilled artisans in Kutch using indigenous Kala cotton. Minor irregularities in the weave and texture are inherent characteristics of hand-spun and hand-woven fabrics, celebrating the true authenticity of handmade craft
For nearly 500 years, Bhujodi’s Vankar weavers have transformed locally grown cotton and wool into textiles for the pastoral communities of Kachchh. Indigenous Kala Cotton grows with rainwater in the region’s dry climate and produces a strong, naturally textured yarn. On traditional pit looms, warp threads are carefully arranged while the shuttle carries the weft back and forth, building the cloth one line at a time. Using the extra-weft technique, motifs such as Chaumukh and Panchka are formed by hand, thread by thread. Today, this GI-recognised weaving tradition sustains farmers, spinners and weaving families while carrying Kachchh’s textile knowledge into contemporary homes and wardrobes.

Handmade with heritage. Sourced with care. Bringing indian craftsmanship to homes and businesses around the world.
